This pandemic has shifted our way of life in so many ways. We used to enjoy meeting our friends, taking a stroll at the mall or at the park, and some occasional travels which we frequently document in our social media accounts. It had also shifted our perspectives in our profession, personal relationships, and social issues among others. The unpredictability has taught us either to enjoy the now or to fear the unknown future.
To guide us through this uncharted path, the Association of Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice (ACPAPP) will be having it’s 21st Annual National Convention (ANC) and its second virtual ANC on Oct. 6-8, 2021 with the theme “Lead the Way: Recovery through Transformation and Innovation.” It is that time of the year when we can grow together at home by gaining new insight and perspective on how we can react, respond, recover and thrive during this pandemic.
The following thought and action leaders will be the speakers at the event: Len Jui, Deputy Chairman of the International Accounting Standards Board; Prof. Solita “Winnie” Monsod, Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of the Philippines, Filipino Broadcaster, Host, Economist and Columnist; Hon. Emilio Aquino, Chairman at the Securities and Exchange Commission; Hon. Chuchi Fonacier, Deputy Governor at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas; Representatives from the Cooperative Development Authority and the Bureau of Internal Revenue; Marvin Galang, Founder and President of JuanTax; Hon. Noe Quiñanola, Chairman of the Professional Regulation Commission-Board of Accountancy; Atty. Emmanuel Artiza, General Accountant at the Office of the General Accountant, Securities and Exchange Commission; Joy Tan-Chi Mendoza, Councilor and Author of When a Good God Allows Rape and DGroup Leader at the Christ’s Commission Fellowship; Antonis Diolas, Head of Audit and Assurance, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants; and Heidi Mendoza, Former Undersecretary General of the United Nations Office of Internal Oversight. These highly respected leaders will share their insights on matters that promote a more in-depth understanding of aspects affecting our profession including economic, spiritual, ethical, technological and governance impacts.
Danilo Alas and Marycris Oplas of Alas Oplas & Co., CPAs; Jerome Antonio Constantino and Katherine Constantino of Constantino & Partners; and George Villaruz and Normita Villaruz of Villaruz and Villaruz & Co., CPAs, will also be sharing their wisdom and experience about work, life and love balance, and on the things that really matter.
This event is brought to us by the relentless 2021 ACPAPP board of directors and committee members who always have us in their thoughts in organizing this event. May we gain a lot of value and inspiration in this virtual occasion and may it help us react, respond, recover and thrive despite the odds.
