MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Storm Fabian has intensified into a severe tropical storm but no storm warning signals have so far been raised, the state weather bureau said midday Monday.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Servoces Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist Chris Perez said Fabian was located 1,055 kilometers east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon, or too far to affect the Philippine landmass.
Fabian has maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, gusts of up to 115 kph and moving west northwest at 15 kph, Pagasa said in its latest weather bulletin.
