MANILA, Philippines — Another 122 patients have succumbed to COVID-19, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Saturday, raising the country’s coronavirus death count to 26,598.
According to the DOH, the deaths account for 1.77 percent of all the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country, which breached the 1.5 million mark also on Saturday.
The country now has 47,257 active cases of COVID-19, of which 2.7 percent are severe and 1.6 percent are critical that are at higher risk for death.
Meanwhile, 91.8 percent of the active cases are mild, 1.89 percent are moderate, and 2 percent are asymptomatic.
