MANILA, Philippines — Malacaang on Wednesday wished “the very best” for the possible partnering of Senator Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Vicente Sotto III as presidential and vice presidential bets in the 2022 elections.
“We wish them the very best because in a democracy kinakailangan mayroong pagpipilian ang taumbayan,” Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said in a press briefing.

Lacson and Sotto, who are currently on a consultative tour around Luzon to meet with different local officials, are planning to announce their candidacies on August 5.
