PH’s COVID-19 deaths now over 26,000 with 100 new casualties

MANILA, Philippines — The COVID-19 deaths in the country went above 26,000 on Monday, July 12, after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 100 new casualties.

According to DOH’s COVID-19 bulletin, the 26,015 deaths due to the disease represent 1.76 percent of the total confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country, which now stands at 1.478 million.

The increase in deaths can also be attributed to the validation process, as 62 recoveries were eventually reclassified as deaths.

Also, of the 156 deactivated cases, six were patients who passed away.
