MANILA, Philippines — Marikina City needs to fully vaccinate at least 35,000 residents to acquire herd immunity, Mayor Marcelino Teodoro said on Monday.
Teodoro said that the city has inoculated at least 85 percent of the estimated 225,000 eligible residents as target for herd immunity.
Of this number, around 185,000 to 190,000 residents have been vaccinated as of July 12. This means the city only needs to inoculate 30,000 to 35,000 people to reach its target population, according to Teodoro.
