OCTA records ‘flat’ COVID-19 reproduction rate in several LGUs

MANILA, Philippines — While the daily average of COVID-19 infection last week had decreased, OCTA research on Sunday noted a “flat” reproduction rate in several local government units (LGUs).

Based on its latest report, the OCTA Research Team said “the trends in the Philippines, NCR (National Capital Region), and many of the ‘hot’ LGUs (local government units) are ‘flat.'”

The daily average rate of COVID-19 reproduction, however, has decreased by 5 percent from July 4 to 10.

According to OCTA, having a “flat” reproduction rate means the LGU has a reproduction rate of at least 0.9 to 1.1; this also means that there is no significant upward or downward movement in the infection …
