NCR back on decreasing trend for COVID-19 cases

MANILA, Philippines — COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila are declining again after a slight uptick in infections, the OCTA Research said Friday.

According to the independent research group, the average daily cases in Metro Manila from July 2 to 8 was 636, seven percent lower than the previous week.

“This means that the NCR is back on a slight downward trend after a slight uptick the past week,” OCTA said in its monitoring report.

The reproduction number in Metro Manila is 0.85. Reproduction number is the number of new cases estimated to stem from one positive case.
