MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) reported 191 more COVID-19 deaths on Thursday, raising the death count to 25,650.
The DOH said the case fatality rate, or the percentage of people who have died in all the confirmed cases, is now at 1.76 percent.
The country has so far confirmed a total of 1,455,585 COVID-19 cases, including 49,036 that remain active. Of the active cases, 2.2 percent are severe and 1.5 percent are critical and are at a higher risk for death.
The DOH reported an average of 122 deaths from July 2 to 8, slightly higher than the 108 deaths from June 25 to July 1.
