MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) with the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), is set to inaugurate on Thursday the LRT-2 East Extension Project which will extend the LRT-2 line to Antipolo City in Rizal.
According to the DOTr, the extended LRT-2 line will have two new stations— Marikina-Pasig and Antipolo stations—and will start its operations on July 6.
Once operational, the LRT-2 East Extension Project will cut travel time from Claro M. Recto in Manila to Masinag in Antipolo from three hours via bus or jeepney, to just 30 to 40 minutes, the DOTr said.
