MANILA, Philippines — The government’s COVID-19 task force has recommended that the National Capital Region Plus be kept under general community quarantine (GCQ) until July 15.
In a taped meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III presented the recommendations for the July quarantine classifications made by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases’ (IATF).
The IATF recommended that Metro Manila, Rizal, and Bulacan be placed under GCQ “with some restrictions” and Laguna and Cavite under GCQ “with heightened restrictions” from July 1 to 15.
The five areas make up the NCR Plus.
