MANILA, Philippines — Senator Nancy Binay appeared not too keen on the idea of joining forces with the Liberal Party (LP) for the 2022 elections, citing “wounds” that still need healing.
“May mga sugat na dapat munang gamutin bago kami mag usap tungkol sa 2022,” Binay said in a statement. She did not elaborate.
(There are wounds that still need to be healed before we can talk about 2022.)
It was during the time of former President Benigno Aquino III, then chairman of the ruling Liberal Party, when the Senate investigated corruption allegations against former Vice President Jejomar Binay and some of his family members. The probe started in 2014 and concluded in early 2016.
