MANILA, Philippines—Supreme Court Justices have pitched in and donated 18 tons of vegetables to 16 community food pantries in Metro Manila.
Sacks of corn, squash, eggplant, okra and more were dropped off Thursday at the Supreme Court compound on Taft Avenue in Manila to be sorted and distributed to representatives of community pantries.

Sources said the funds used for the purchase of vegetables were sourced from the own pockets of the magistrates after almost two weeks of discussion since they brought up the idea.
