MANILA, Philippines — More than 50,000 violations on non-wearing of face masks were recorded from May 31 to June 6, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) reported Monday.
DILG Secretary Eduardo Ao said 50,021 face mask violations were recorded from the said week, most of whom were given warnings.
According to Ao’s presentation, of the 50,021 violations, 28,087 violators were warned; 17,395 were fined; 3,413 were asked to do community service; and 1,126 were arrested.
“Ayon sa nakalap ng ating Philippine National Police, tumaas ang mga nahuling hindi nagsusuot ng face mask,” Ao said.
