MANILA, Philippines — A total of 19,349 residents from Marikina City are so far fully vaccinated against COVID-19, meaning they already completed two doses of the vaccine, city mayor Marcy Teodoro said Wednesday.
The city has so far been able to give vaccines to about 61,700 individuals but is aiming to vaccinate 290,000 individuals, which is 70% of its population, to achieve herd immunity.
“Tuluy-tuloy ang vaccine roll out natin,” he said in a Laging Handa public briefing.
Teodoro said the city is able to administer 3,000 to 4,000 jabs a day but can hike it up to 6,000 a day when the vaccine supply allows.
It was able to increase its vaccination teams from 12 to 22.
