TACLOBAN CITY- A personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) was gunned down in what anti-narcotics operatives considered a shootout in Sogod town, Southern Leyte on Wednesday, May 19.

Jody Magallanes, 40, and assigned at the fire station in Mahaplag town, Leyte, allegedly tried to engage members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, personnel of the anti-drug unit of the Southern Leyte provincial police office, and the local police in Barangay Rizal during a buy-bust operation at about 11:20 a.m.
