TUGUEGARAO CITY — At least P40.78 million worth of marijuana plants were uprooted and burned in Tinglayan town, Kalinga province last week, police said.
Col. Davy Vicente Limmong, Kalinga police director, said the marijuana eradication drive was carried out at Mt. Chumanchil in Barangay Loccong from May 6-9.
The operation in three plantations covered about 8,900 square meters, where about 88,400 fully grown marijuana plants and several kilos of dried leaves, stalks and seeds were discovered.
But authorities failed to arrest anyone from these areas.
