MANILA, Philippines — Several human rights defenders have spoken out during a Canadian parliament hearing on the Philippines’ human rights situation and urged Canada to take a stand against supposed abuses in the Southeast Asian country.
The International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines (ICHRP) shared parts of the hearing held on Tuesday night (Eastern Standard Time), where rights defenders like Karapatan secretary general Cristina Palabay and ICHRP’s co-chairperson Guy-Lin Beaudoin spoke out.
