Marijuana plantations destroyed in Kalinga police operation

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines — Around 280 kilos of marijuana bricks worth P33.6-million were seized and later burned along with three marijuana plantation sites in Kalinga province during a police operation this week, according to a belated police report on Saturday (April 24).

A joint team of Cordillera police officers and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) uprooted 128,800 fully-grown marijuana plants from several sites in Barangay Loccong which were valued at P25.76-million, said Police Colonel Davy Vicente Limmong, Kalinga police director.
