Lockdown imposed in Pampanga capital

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — For two straight days, Pampanga province has logged more than 200 new COVID-19 cases daily, mostly from this capital, prompting the imposition of a stricter form of community quarantine here.

The modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) is being observed in the province, as new cases reached 298 on April 11 and 207 the next day, according to Dr. Zenon Ponce, provincial health officer.

Explaining the big jumps in figures, Ponce said several cases were reported late.

The new cases raised to 11,786 the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 2,592 actives cases, 8,635 cases of recoveries and 559 deaths.
