MANILA, Philippines — Some members of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) have tested positive for COVID-19, forcing the postponement of President Rodrigo Duterte’s regular public address this Wednesday, his former aide and Senator Christopher “Bong” Go said.
Go did not specify how many members of the President’s security team were infected with COVID-19.
“The President’s Talk to the People address is postponed to avoid putting him at risk due to the reported COVID-19 cases in the PSG. Even Secretary Lorenzana was also found positive of COVID-19 just yesterday,” Go said Wednesday in a message to reporters.
