MANILA, Philippines — General Trias police chief Lt. Col Marlo Solero was sacked from his post after it was found out that there was indeed physical punishment for those who violated the curfew rules in his jurisdiction.

This development came after Darren Pearedondo , who allegedly broke curfew rules amid the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine, earlier died when he was forced to do 300 rounds of squat-like exercises by police in Cavite.

Solero, however, denied this accusation saying there was no such punishment being imposed.
