PUERTO PRINCESA CITY —- The Chinese fleet currently at the West Philippine Sea demanded a Philippine military aircraft conducting an aerial patrol to “leave immediately” as it flew over Julian Felipe Reef on Tuesday.
In a radio communication to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) aircraft, the Chinese fleet asserted its claim over the Julian Felipe Reef. The AFP sent a copy of the radio recording to the Inquirer that contained at least five messages sent to the AFP aircraft during the patrol.
“You are approaching a Chinese reef. To avoid any move that may cause misunderstanding, please leave immediately,” the Chinese radio communication said.
