MANILA, Philippines — The country’s new COVID-19 cases for Monday breached the 10,000-mark for the first time ever, bringing the number of active infections to 115,495.
The COVID-19 bulletin from the Department of Health (DOH) showed that there were 10,016 new infections on Monday, the new record-high for single-day increases since the pandemic reached the Philippine shores.
Previously, the highest single-day increase was at 9,838, recorded last Friday.
The total case count is at 731,894 with 602,213 of them tagged are recoveries as 78 patients reportedly recovered on Monday. The death toll however is at 13,186 with 16 new deaths.
