MANILA, Philippines — Eighteen out of 149 hospitals in Metro Manila were placed under critical status in terms of bed capacity solely for COVID-19 patients, based on data from the Department of Health (DOH) as of March 13.
The figure showed an increase from 13 hospitals classified critical last March 12, consisting of 148 hospitals.
Of the hospitals under critical status, only theF.Y. Manalo Medical Foundation, Inc. has reached 100 percent bed occupancy.
The DOH classifies occupancy levels for COVID-19 beds in health centers as either critical, high risk, moderate, and safe.
