MANILA, Philippines — Thirteen out of 148 hospitals in Metro Manila were placed under critical status in terms of bed capacity solely for COVID-19 patients, based on data from the Department of Health (DOH) as of March 10.
This figure more than tripled from four hospitals classified critical last March 5, consisting of 149 hospitals.
Of the hospitals under critical status, two have already reached 100 percent bed occupancy, namely:
F.Y. Manalo Medical Foundation Inc.
Novaliches District Hospital
The DOH classifies occupancy levels for COVID-19 beds in health centers as either critical, high risk, moderate, and safe.
