ILOILO CITY—Unidentified men believed to be communist guerrillas detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted at policemen aboard a vehicle in Janiuay town, Iloilo province on Wednesday (March 3).
None of the policemen of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion were hurt in the blast around 9:10 a.m. at the village of Agcarope.
The policemen also found another IED near the site of the blast, according to a report of the Iloilo provincial police.
The policemen were on a clearing and security mission for a groundbreaking ceremony of an agro-forestry facility at the village of Panuran, also in Janiuay, when the attack came.
