MANILA, Philippines — Areas within and near the extreme northern Luzon are likely to experience rain on Wednesday, state meteorologists said, noting that it will be caused by a weak northeast monsoon or amihan.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its Tuesday afternoon forecast that the weak episode of the northeast monsoon is expected to interact with the warm winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean or easterlies and create a tail end of a frontal system or cold front.
This in turn would bring rain over the extreme northern Luzon area, including Cagayan province.
