MANILA, Philippines — Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana will not be inoculated with CoronaVac, the Covid-19 vaccine developed by China-based Sinovac Biotech, as the Philippines begins its Covid-19 vaccination drive Monday.
On Twitter, Lorenzana, who is 72 years old, said he would have wanted to be the first to receive the vaccine “to build trust and confidence among personnel” but health experts advised that those over 59 should not be vaccinated.
