MANILA, Philippines — The more contagious UK variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 has so far been detected in six regions in the country, the Department of Health (DOH) said Tuesday.
Data from the DOH showed that there have been a total of 23 cases of the B.1.1.7 variant in the Cordillera Administrative Region, consisting of 18 cases in Bontoc, Mountain Province, one case in Sabangan, Mountain Province, and four cases in La Trinidad, Benguet.
Meanwhile, there are three cases so far in Davao Region, composed of one case each from New Bataan and Compostela in Davao de Oro, and in Davao City.
