Some SC justices on quarantine; court reschedules terror law debates

MANILA, Philippines — The Supreme Court has rescheduled the 4th day of oral arguments on the petitions against the Anti-Terrorism Act as some of the justices are currently on self-quarantine.

 

“Considering that some of the Justices are on self-quarantine as a health precaution against Covid-19, you are hereby informed per instruction of the Honorable Supreme Court, of the suspension of the oral arguments scheduled on Feb. 23, 2021,” read the announcement from the en banc Clerk of Court, Atty. Edgar Aricheta.

The oral argument will resume on March 2.

No explanation has been provided yet on why there is a need for some of the justices to go on self-quarantine.
