LUCENA CITY —- The island province of Marinduque, which has recorded over 200 coronavirus disease cases, had its 11th fatality following the death of a 74-year-old man from Santa Cruz town due to COVID-19, local authorities reported on Feb. 11.
The Santa Cruz Municipal Health Office, in its 8 p.m. Thursday bulletin on Facebook, disclosed that the elderly patient from Barangay Lapulapu succumbed to acute respiratory failure and pneumonia on Feb. 9.
The victim was listed as COVID-19 mortality in the province only two days later.
The patient had no travel history to places with known COVID-19 cases and no record of close contact with any confirmed virus carrier, the report said.
