MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines on Saturday recorded 1,791 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), raising the total number of infections to 416,852.
Of the number, the Department of Health (DOH) said 8 percent or 33,224 cases are active.
The nation’s COVID-19 death toll reached 8,080, which is 1.94 percent of the total COVID-19 cases. This after 55 more patients died of the respiratory disease.
Meanwhile, 328 new recovered patients bring the total COVID-19 recoveries to 375,548.
The DOH once again modified the country’s COVID-19 caseload after deleting six duplicate cases. Of this number, four are recoveries.
