SAN ANTONIO, Zambales —- The province on Sunday registered 58 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections that were traced to a construction site, officials said.
Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said the new infections were the highest single-day record in the province since the pandemic began.
Bueno said the patients are all construction workers, aged 18-68, and assigned to the St. Pio Medical Center in Iba town.
“The number is higher than the outbreak in Masinloc power plant last August with 45 cases on a single day,” Bueno told the Inquirer.
