MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck San Francisco, Quezon in the afternoon of Christmas Day.
The earthquake struck 9 kilometers northwest of San Francisco town at 6:04 p.m., according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The quake of tectonic origin had a depth of 5 kilometers.
Phivolcs said instrumental intensities were recorded in the following areas:
Intensity III – Gumaca, Quezon
Intensity II – Lopez, Quezon; Mercedes, Camarines Norte
Intensity I – Lucena City; Dolores, Lucban, Guinayangan, Quezon; Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte; Sipocot, Camarines Sur
