Filipina golfer Bianca Pagdanganan, barely improved her scorecard and remained at the near bottom of the Ladies Professional Golfer Association-CME Group Tour Championship’s leaderboard on Saturday (Sunday in Manila) at the Tiburon Golf Course in Naples, Florida.
Early frustration hit Pagdanganan as she triple-bogeyed the first hole followed by a pair of bogeys at the second and third holes. She rallied right after with twelve pars, a pair of birdies, and just a bogey to finish the penultimate round.
Pagdanganan’s round three performance, in summary, was way better than her second-round outing. She made two birdies at the ninth and 13th holes, which is a birdie finer than her previous round.
Despite Pagdanganan’s couple of birdies, she remains at the borderline-bottom place of the standings.
The 23-year old Pagdanganan finished round three with 76 or four-over-par and a tournament-total score of twelve-over-par, putting her at No. 70 in the overall standings.
LPGA rookie Pagdanganan’s flight mates, Americans Britanny Lang and Natalie Gulbis, who all teed off last in Day Three, are currently occupying the last three spots on the leaderboard — 70th, 71st and 72nd, respectively.
Day 2 tournament-leader South Korean Jin Young Ko dropped to solo second with a stroke behind her compatriot Sei Young Kim who currently holds the top position with a tournament-total score of 13-under-par while English Georgia Hall took the solo third place.
With just a round left, Pagdanganan is expected to go all out to make it at least to the upper bottom of the standings as the LPGA wrapped up the 2020 season.
Pagdanganan tees off at 9:26 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time) in the ultimate round of the tournament with Lang and Gulbis.
