MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 is still raised in Kalayaan Islands on Monday morning even as tropical storm Vicky continues to move away from the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).
Based on the weather bulletin issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) at 5 a.m., the center of Vicky was last spotted 175 kilometers south-southwest of Kalayaan, Palawan outside PAR.
It is moving southwestward at 20 kilometers per hour, and is packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
