IN the wake of recent Typhoons Quinta, Rolly and Ulysses, Republic Cement immediately initiated relief operations in several regions that were severely affected by heavy rains, winds and flooding.

In partnership with local government units and concerned dealers located in the areas, Republic Cement distributed over 6,200 relief packs worth P2.2 million. These packs contained rice, clean drinking water, noodles, canned goods, coffee and cereal drinks.

Donations were turned over to different cities and municipalities in need of assistance in Bicol, Cagayan, Isabela, Rizal and Norzagaray, Bulacan.

“As a long-standing member of these communities and as a responsible corporate citizen, it is our duty to rise to the occasion when our communities need support. We are serious about our pledge toward nation-building and this is no different in times of crisis. We will continue to provide aid to our communities in need while advocating for a safer and stronger Republic,” Republic Cement President and CEO Nabil Francis said.

The company also opened a call for donation among its employees for a second wave of relief efforts, committing to match the total donation amount.
