LUCENA CITY—Eight more patients succumbed to COVID-19 in Quezon, bringing the death toll in the province to 699 since the pandemic struck in 2020.
Those who died were from Lucena City and Lopez town, with two each; and Lucban, Pagbilao, Candelaria, and Sariaya towns, with one each, the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) said Wednesday.
Thirty of the total deaths happened between July 1 to 7, according to the report.
In June, the IPHO recorded 140 deaths, higher than the 125 in May and the 114 in April.
The Quezon capital Lucena, which is under the strict modified enhanced community quarantine, has the highest fatalities at 130.
