55 new COVID-19 cases prompt tighter controls in Quirino province

CABARROGUIS, Quirino- As many as 55 new coronavirus cases were recorded on Friday in Quirino province, prompting Governor Dakila Carlo Cua to tighten border controls and shutdown tourist spots.

The province now has a total of 230 infections since 2020, and 114 of these patients are still active cases in the towns of Diffun, Cabarroguis, Saguday, Aglipay, Nagtipunan and Maddela, Cua said citing Health records.

Three deaths were also recorded in the last three days.

The virus had claimed the lives of a 32-year-old woman in Aglipay town who had serious medical conditions when she contracted COVID-19 and a 68-year-old man in Maddela town who died on Wednesday but whose results were …
