MANILA, Philippines —A magnitude 4.9 earthquake jolted Occidental Mindoro and parts of Western Visayas on Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs reported that the earthquake struck 60 kilometers (kms) southwest of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro at 7:49 a.m.
The earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 14 kms.
The earthquake was felt at Intensity III in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, and Roxas City and Intensity I in San Jose de Buenavista, and Sebaste, Antique.
No aftershocks or significant damage are expected, said Phivolcs.
