2,122 new COVID-19 cases push PH’s total tally to 456,562

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines recorded on Friday 2,122 additional coronavirus infections, the highest single-day increase in nearly three weeks.

With the new cases, the country now has a total of 456,562 COVID-19 cases nationwide, the Department of Health (DOH) reported.

The last time the country recorded over 2,000 additional cases was last Nov. 29, with 2,122 infections.

According tothe DOH’s dailycasebulletin, Quezon City recorded the highest increase incaseswith 160, followed by Rizal with 105, Bulacan with 91, Makati City with 83, and Davao City with 79.
