JEHOVAH’S Witnesses (JWs) expect their 2026 International Convention in Manila to generate about P1.5 billion in local spending, with thousands of overseas and domestic delegates expected to support tourism-related businesses.

The three-day convention to be held at the SMX Convention Center and Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Oct. 30 to Nov. 1, themed “Eternal Happiness,” is expected to draw more than 5,000 international delegates and about 20,000 domestic attendees over a two-week period starting Oct. 26, the religious organization said in a statement.

Spending is expected to benefit businesses in the hospitality, food service, transportation, retail and entertainment industries, James Morales, spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Philippines, said.

Some international delegates are also expected to visit destinations outside Metro Manila, extending potential tourism benefits to other parts of the country.

Mr. Morales said the free, three-day program would explore how people could cultivate lasting happiness through spirituality and practical Bible principles. No collections will be taken during the event.

The Witnesses are one of the biggest nonprofit convention organizers in the world. Their last international convention held in the country was in 2019.

The Manila gathering is part of a series of international conventions held throughout 2026. The same program was presented at 19 international conventions in countries including Portugal, South Africa and Thailand, the group said. — Norman P. Aquino
