PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. has ordered financial assistance for victims of the Banga National High School shooting in South Cotabato, Executive Secretary Ralph G. Recto said.
Mr. Recto was directed to ensure the immediate release of assistance to those injured and the families of those who died in the Sept. 18 shooting, according to a statement released by his office on Sunday.
It did not specify the amount of financial assistance.
Mr. Recto ordered the Office of the Deputy Executive Secretary for Finance and Administration to process the assistance in accordance with existing laws and regulations.
The office was also instructed to submit progress reports every five days until the assistance has been fully distributed, it said.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development has also provided aid to affected families and psychological first aid to teachers following the incident. — Erika Mae P. Sinaking
