The DFA has suspended the issuance of visas to travelers from Hubei, China

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday evening ordered the immediate suspension of the issuance of visas in the Philippines to travelers from the Hubei province of China amid the 2019 novel coronavirus outbreak.

Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Dodo Dulay said the order was issued after the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of emerging Infectious Diseases proposed the proposal in a resolution.

The same resolution also sought travel counselors who denied the “non-essential” travel of Filipinos to China.

Several cities in Hubei, including the epicenter of Wuhan, were put under lockdown in a bid to contain the virus.
