Vice President Leni Robredo acknowledged on Friday that, according to a report by JP Soriano on “State of the Nation with Jessica Soho,” her home town of Naga City has a “big” drug problem.
Asked if the drug problem in her hometown was greater than that in other places, the vice president said they could not be compared as she had no information on it.
Last year, in a speech to business leaders in Malacanang, President Rodrigo Duterte said that Naga City was a “shabu hotbed.”
Robredo said she was planning to address the drug issue in Naga and elsewhere.
She announced that her office had already submitted a report on their recommendations to Duterte to address the drug problem, as well as preliminary observations.
She added that she was looking for the Naga and Bicol regions to create an inventory of data on illegal drugs.
Robredo said that her power to do so was ‘ limited, ‘ even if she wanted to put an end to the Oplan Tokhang.
