PNP OIC Gamboa is telling cops to ignore ‘ name-droppers ‘

Philippine National Police

Police officer-in-charge of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Lieutenant General Archie Francisco Gamboa instructed cops on Friday to ignore people flashing calling high-ranking police and government officials cards just to get out of circumstances like traffic violations.

Many police officers are easily intimidated when violators present calling officials ‘ cards to avoid being arrested or disciplined, according to Gamboa.

Gamboa stressed that many drivers typically violate traffic rules during the holiday season when traffic across the metro has become worst.

Police assigned to traffic monitoring would strictly prohibit the use of sirens and blinkers for private individuals or even government officials who are not legally authorized, Gamboa said.
