The government was still waiting for the military to verify the reported existence of Chinese sea ships in Philippine waters, adding that if the safety of the state is endangered, it is always a problem of this government.
Ryan Martinson, U.S. Naval War College assistant lecturer, tweeted maps and photos of Chinese ships that have been in the financial area of the Philippines since Aug. 3.
The Western Command also noted that in June four Chinese Navy ships had gone through Palawan’s Balabac Strait without notifying the Philippine government.
Panelo said it is component of safety measures to seek public approval before passing through Philippine waters.
