In Barangay San Isidro Sur, Binmaley, Pangasinan after testing positive for African swine fever (ASF), more than 200 pigs are scheduled to be culled.
According to a Balitanghali report this Wednesday, authorities have dug an area where the pigs will be buried in.
Some pigs have tested positive for the disease in Barangay Poblacion, too.
This can result in a state of calamity being declared in Pangasinan.
The local government said hog raisers would receive financial assistance.
However, the Department of Agriculture is studying whether to give them cows or chickens to raise, rather than financial assistance.
The DA said earlier this month the number of ASF cases is declining but the Philippines can not yet be declared ASF-free.
