NBI arrests suspect in killing of Lapu-Lapu schoolgirl

Authorities made arrests on Monday over a 17-year-old boy thought to be one of the culprits in the killing of a schoolgirl in Lapu-Lapu City this month. Region 7 Director Tomas Enrile of the National Bureau of Investigation confirmed the arrest.

The report stated that CCTV footage disclosed that the suspect was with the victim half an hour before the body was found.

Enrile added that they are contemplating jealousy as motivation behind the murder.

The girl’s body was found in an unoccupied lot in Lapu-Lapu City last March 11. She was revealed to naked from waist down, her body had multiple stab wounds. Autopsy showed that some organs were missing.

Friday of the previous week, members of the PNP detained Jonas Bueno, primarily linked to the youngster’s case, in Barangay Matina Pangi in Davao City. Camp Crame in Manila later elucidated that Bueno was tagged for the killing of a 60-year-old farmer in Trinidad Batucan, Danao City Cebu.

Director Debold Sinas of Police Regional Office-7, Cebu stated that the killing of the farmer and the teenage girl were of similar.

Bueno is supposed to be part of a cult. Another report stated that he admitted to contributing in slaughters but held back that he is the culprit of the schoolgirl’s gruesome murder.

President Duterte has ordered manhunt operations for the committers behind the girl’s slay.
